Networks
Elaboration of telecommunications’ networks projects for Angola Telecom in different provinces. In most cases, implementation was included as well.
Networks’ construction in Huambo, Benguela, Ondjiva, Tombwa, Saurimo and Menongue; Petrangol, Alameda and Terra Nova networks in the province of Luanda; and Lubango and Namibe networks, subcontracted by Alcatel Xangai Bell.
Implementation of integrated turn-key project in the South Kuanza province, subcontracted by Alcatel Italy: construction of 8 access networks in different locations, installation of 14 towers; links, optical fiber and remaining support transmission infrastructures for the entire province, installation of the support commutation infrastructures such as wires, air conditioning and energies.
Besides the network construction / expansion projects , COMATEL is also responsible for the maintenance and installations of subscribers in the areas of Luanda Principal, Alameda, Petrangol, S. Paulo and Cacuaco, in Luanda, and in the provinces of Bengo, Huambo, Benguela, Huíla, Namibe, South Lunda, North Lunda, Kuando Kubango, Cunene, South Kuanza, North Kuanza, Malange and Uíge.
Optical Fiber (OF)
Installation of optical fibre Backbone (BB) sections between Lubango and Namibe, Alto Dondo and Quibala, Alto Hama and Huambo and between Gabela and Sumbe.
Urban optical fibre network construction in Namibe, Lubango and Huambo.
Construction of a ring between Luanda and Viana, connecting within this path all Angola Telecom centrals.
Optical fibre network construction (Diginet) in Luanda in order to connect major customers (Banks, for example).
Subcontracted by Alcatel Lucent: Sumbe urban optical fibre network construction; installation of a thousand sites for Wimax with several optical fibre support infrastructures or beam in different locations through out Angola.
Subcontracted by Nokia Siemens for Luanda: construction of support infrastructures for different optical fibre rings, as well as installation and connection; construction of infrastructures for the construction of copper cables access network.
Subcontracted by Alcatel Shangai Bell: construction of around a hundred sites (fencing, base for shelter, base for generator, infrastructure for solar panels, etc.) through out Angola, as well as transport and installation of generators (plus canopies) in their sites.
Subcontracted by Huawei for MSTelcom: construction of infrastructures; optical fibre installation and connection in the Luanda urban network; and construction of optical fibre Backbone sections between Luanda and Viana, Malange and Cacuso, and Catengue and Chongoroi.
Others Relevant Projects
Within the cable TV sector, COMATEL is responsible for the implementation of all the networks in Luanda, including ducts’ construction, installation of optical fibre and coaxial cable networks, as well as installation of customers’ houses. Comatel is also responsible for the corrective maintenance of distribution and customer networks.
By the end of 2009, COMATEL initiated the implementation of the Cable TV project in the cities of Benguela and Lobito, using optical fibre (GPON).
Subcontracted by the ALL2IT, working for FAA: implementation of structured cables’ projects, including services rendering and material supply.
